ISO/TC 4, Rolling bearings

Scope

Standardization of all types and all sizes of bearing element based on the principle of rolling motion, their accessories, application and identification and standardization of Spherical plain bearings, i.e. plain bearings with spherical contact surface.

SECRETARIAT

ISO/TC 10, Technical drawings, product definition and related documentation

Scope

Standardization and coordination of all kinds of product documentation, including technical drawings, manually produced or computer based for technical purposes throughout the product life cycle, to facilitate preparation, management, storage, retrieval, reproduction, exchange and use; including media and drawing equipment.

Note:

The general responsibility for the review and overall coordination of graphical symbols devolves upon ISO/TC 145.

SECRETARIAT

ISO/TC 69, Applications of statistical methods

Scope

Standardization of statistical terminology and symbols, of presentation and formal interpretation of test and inspection results. Standardization of conditions of application of statistical methods used in specification and inspection of industrial and agricultural products and of processes which generate the products: application to the determination of characteristics and tolerances, sampling methods, choice of test methods and establishment of their repeatability and reproducibility.

Besides, technical committee ISO/TC 69 has been entrusted by the ISO Council, with the function of advisor to all ISO technical committees in matters concerning the application of statistical methods in standardization (Resolution 12-Council 1959 and Resolution 26-Council 1961).

SECRETARIAT

ISO/TC 172, Optics and optical instruments

Scope

Standardization of terminology, requirements, interfaces and test methods in the field of optics. This includes complete systems, devices, instruments, optical components, auxilliary devices and accessories, as well as materials.

Excluded:

SECRETARIAT

ISO/TC 176, Quality management and quality assurance

Scope

Standardization in the field of generic quality management, including quality systems, quality assurance, and generic supporting technologies, including standards which provide guidance on the selection and use of these standards.

Excluded:

Note:

TC 176 has been entrusted by the ISO Technical Management Board with the function ofconsultant to all ISO/TCs in the application of quality management and quality assurance in their specific technologies to ensure the integrity of the generic quality system standards, and prevent proliferation of sector-specific ISO quality systems standards that may lead to fragmentation of the quality systems of companies in multiple assessments and thus to increased costs.

SECRETARIAT

ISO/TC 184, Industrial automation systems and integration

Scope

Standardization in the field of industrial automation and integration concerning discrete part manufacturing and encompassing the application of multiple technologies, i.e. information systems, machines and equipment, and telecommunications.

Excluded:

CEN/TC 190, Foundry technology

Scope

Standardization in the field of metallic material castings, their production and their application, e.g. material specifications, technical condition of delivery, tolerances of dimensions and forms, methods of testing specific for castings, tools, foundry auxiliaries, e.g. patterns, permanent moulds, moulding materials.

Note: Excluded from the scope are material specifications written by other TCs.
SECRETARIAT

CEN/TC 290, Dimensional and geometrical product specification and verification

Scope

Standardization in the field of macro and micro-geometry specification including dimensional and geometrical tolerancing, surface properties and the related verification principles, measuring equipment and calibration requirements.

Scopes of liaisons to liaisons of ISO/TC 213

IEC/TC 44, Safetey of machinery. Electrotechnical aspects

NOTE: IEC/TC 44 is not a liaison of ISO/TC 213

Scope

Standardization in the field of the application of electrotechnical equipment and systems to machinery (including a group of machines working together in a coordinated manner, excluding higher-level systems aspects) not portable by hand while working, but which may include mobile equipment. The equipment covered commences at the point of connection of the electrical supply to the machinery.

Standardization of interfaces (excluding local area networks and fieldbus) between control equipment and the electrotechnical equipment of machinery.

Standardization of electrotechnical equipment and systems relating to the safeguarding of persons from hazards of the machinery, its associated equipment and the environment.

To coordinate with ISO all matters concerning the safety of machinery.

IEC/TC 65, Industrial-process measurements and control

NOTE: IEC/TC 65 is not a liaison of ISO/TC 213

Scope

To prepare international standards for systems and elements used for industrial-process measurement and control concerning continuous and batch processes. To co-ordinate the standardization of those features of related elements which affect suitability for integration into such systems. The work of standardization outlined above is to be carried out in the international fields for equipment and systems operating with electrical, pneumatic, hydralic, mechanical or other systems of measurement and/or control.

ISO/TC 145, Graphical symbols

NOTE: ISO/TC 145 is not a liaison to ISO/TC 213

Scope

Standardization in the field of graphical symbols as well as of colours and shapes, whenever these elements form part of the message that a symbol is intended to convey.

Establishing principles for preparation, coordination and application of graphical symbols. General responsibility for the review and the coordination of those already existing, those under study, and those to be established. The standardization of new graphical symbols, when requested by a technical committtes, or where it does not fall within the activity of an existing technical committee.
